Support that continues between appointments
Todai Health is a virtual peer-support program for adults living with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes.
Members meet one-to-one with a trained Care Mentor who also manages diabetes. A Care Mentor is Todai Health's term for a trained peer who brings personal experience living with diabetes.
Weekly conversations are the heart of the program. Simple digital tools help you keep track of what matters between sessions.
Todai Health provides peer support and educational tools, not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
From application to your weekly routine

01
Tell us a little about yourself
Start by applying and sharing some basic information about your experience with diabetes, your schedule, and what you hope to get from the program.
A member of the Todai Health team reviews your application before an account is created. If you are invited to join, you register, choose from available Care Mentors, and book all eight weekly sessions. Your Care Mentor then confirms the weekly time.
You do not need to have everything figured out before you apply.

02
Meet your Care Mentor
You meet the Care Mentor you chose, a trained peer who also manages diabetes.
Your first conversation is a chance to get to know each other, talk about what you would like support with, and set expectations for how you will work together.
Your Care Mentor is there to listen, ask helpful questions, and share from their own experience when useful. They are not there to tell you how to manage your diabetes.
-
03
Meet one-to-one each week
You and your Care Mentor meet privately by video for a structured 50-minute conversation each week.
You can bring whatever feels most useful that week: a question, a frustrating situation, a routine you are working on, something that went well, or simply something you want to talk through.
Each conversation has enough structure to help you stay focused, while leaving room for what matters to you.
Before you finish, you can decide on one thing you want to focus on before you meet again.

04
Keep the conversation going between sessions
Between sessions, you will be asked to log a few health metrics. You can also use the optional Diary and Library to keep notes, reflect on your week, or explore helpful resources.
Logging does not affect your ability to book sessions, and the Diary is not something you need to complete every day.
These tools are here to support the conversation, not give you another thing to do perfectly.

05
Know that support has clear boundaries
Care Mentors are peers, not clinicians.
Todai Health provides training, clear guidelines, team support, and technology, including AI-assisted tools, to help Care Mentors stay within their role and recognize when something may need clinical or emergency support.
People make the decisions. AI can support prompts, summaries, and safety workflows, but it does not replace Care Mentors, clinicians, or emergency services.

The relationship comes first
Todai Health is built around the relationship between a Member and a Care Mentor. The platform and its safety tools are there to support that relationship, not replace it.
Member
You bring your own experience, questions, priorities, and day-to-day reality of living with diabetes.
Care Mentor
A trained peer who also manages diabetes. Your Care Mentor listens, shares from their own experience when useful, and supports you as you think through everyday challenges.
Between-session tools
You will be asked to log a few health metrics between sessions. The Diary and Library are optional and can help you keep track of what matters or prepare for your next conversation.
Logging does not affect your ability to book sessions.
AI-assisted support
AI-assisted tools can support Care Mentors with prompts, summaries, guardrails, and safety workflows.
They support the people in the program. They do not make medical decisions or replace human judgment.
Peer support, not medical care
Care Mentors can listen, ask helpful questions, share from their own experience, and help you think through everyday challenges.
They cannot:
- Diagnose a medical condition
- Recommend or change medication
- Tell you how to manage symptoms
- Create a treatment plan
- Provide medical or mental health advice
- Replace your health care team
For questions about symptoms, medication, treatment, or other medical decisions, contact a physician or another qualified health professional.
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number.
If you or someone you know is in emotional distress or thinking about suicide, call or text 988 in the United States.
